Semi permanent lip liner

Q. I am 31 and considering having semi permanent lip liner and eyeliner, I am curious as to How Long It will actually Last? as I have heard mixed answers.

A: Anything from one year to a lifetime. It depends on the following factors:

" The colour used " Skin and blood type " Depth of procedure and needle thickness " Smoking / alcohol / medication intake " Exposure to sun / light " and the area treated.

Traces of the pigment will last in your skin indefinitely. The full cosmetic effect will fade in three stages: the first week - losing 30% pigment intensity, after 4-6 weeks the true colour reveals and then slow fading through 1-5 years. Factors like sun, daylight, swimming, own pH, own blood type, skin- cell renewal, skin undertone, area on the face and type of pigment will all effect the rate of fading. Some people like very vivid and crisp results which may need a touch-up once a year. Usually touch-ups are done every other year. In some cases, one treatment can last a life-time and it better be a good one!
