Tantalising adverts and low cost cosmetic surgery both in the UK and overseas have made the surgeon's scalpel more tempting than ever before.  In some cases the desire for a quick fix or a cheap deal seems to have taken a precedent over the realities of drastic surgery and what it entails.
 
Tuesday nights programme investigates the tummy tuck – one of the most sought after procedures for men and women who have experienced significant weight loss, or for ladies who can’t get their pre-baby bodies back.

Mum of two Kelly, aged 32, was one of the thousands of women who opt for the procedure each year. After losing weight she decided a tummy tuck was the last resort to get the stomach she’d always wanted. Tonight she tells her story of how a tummy tuck and liposuction performed in Germany left her with a life threatening infection that came close to killing her. The infection caused an open wound in Kelly’s stomach so vast it too six months to heal and left her with a scar so disfiguring it looked as if she’d been bitten by a shark.

With her husband by her side, Hayley is very relaxed about the surgery – so much so she decides to have her nipples removed and recreated during her procedure.
